Miami Champagne Week Goes Virtual with Florida Wine Academy

Overview & Challenge

When Miami Champagne Week shifted to a virtual setting for its 5-day celebration, CIIC expanded the reach of the annual event to a global audience.

Strategy

The year 2020 brought an abundance of change for wine lovers and the wine industry. As the industry adapted to an ongoing global health crisis, in-person social events presented many challenges. For Miami’s Florida Wine Academy to reach a (virtually) new global audience for their premier Miami Champagne Week, CIIC was tasked with developing a PR strategy that included the services of social media, media relations, and positioning/thought leadership.

Our goals included generating event awareness in the Miami wine community and beyond, reaching new geographical markets and audiences, and increasing social engagement. To accomplish this, CIIC developed a social media strategy that included weekly social postings, daily community management, and social listening. CIIC also coordinated a #WhatTheSommsAreDrinking video series, where prominent influencers and media created social media content to highlight their favorite Champagne houses.

CIIC also secured over 80+ Miami Champagne Week virtual event calendar listings in the key markets of South Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Palm Beach.
